Show Opening Saturday March 10, 6-9pm at Freshman Fine Arts

I have eight paintings ranging in size from 5x7" up to 24x36" in a show opening tomorrow at Freshman Fine Arts in Beacon, NY. Please join us for some wine and munchies between 6 and 9pm to see different artists' interpretations of the Hudson River Valley, from abstract to realism.

There's always lots going on during Beacon's monthly "Second Saturday". Shops and galleries are open late, all the galleries have their new openings then, there are glass blowing demos at Hudson Beach Glass, and wine tasting at the Artisan wine shop. There are wonderful restaurants and antique shops. It's a great way to spend a Saturday night. Come join the fun!

Three more shows.....

Friday, December 8 from 7-9pm is the opening reception for the Garrison Art Center Annual Member Show. I have an 18x24" painting in the show of Fall at Constitution Marsh. The show runs until January 7, 2007. You can read more on their website: http://www.garrisonartcenter.org/ The gallery is located at 23 Garrison's Landing, Garrison NY.

Saturday, December 9 from 12-3 I will be on hand at the Putnam Arts Council, 321 Kennicut Hill Rd, Mahopac NY, where 40 of my paintings are currently on exhibit. About 20 are hanging on the wall, and another 20 small ones are spread throughout the gallery on tables. I'll also be there on Tuesday, December 12, from 12-3. In addition to my paintings, over 50 local artisans are participating in a craft sale with items from jewelry to glass and textiles, so you'll find something for everyone on your holiday list! See their website for additional hours and information: http://www.putnamartscouncil.com/

Saturday, December 9 from 4-6 is the opening of the Small Works Show at the Bannerman Island Gallery on Main Street in Beacon, NY. I have five paintings in the show. Two are plein air nocturnes of Peach Lake, two are fall scenes, and one is a view from Boscobel. If you've never been to a "Second Saturday" opening in Beacon, you're in for a real treat. All the shops and galleries stay open late and it's a wonderful time!

Saturday, December 9 from 5-8 is a reception at the RiverWinds gallery, just down the street from the Bannerman Island Gallery. I have 9 paintings left in the Buone Feste show there. I'll be stopping by RiverWinds as well during the reception.

Still More Paintings at The Paint Box!

You can see bunches of my new work at The Paint Box in Bedford Hills. I just dropped off 9 new pieces for Gale to show. They are mostly small paintings that would make ideal holiday gifts...plus one HUGE painting. If you're in the area, stop by and have a look! Here's
  • The Paintbox Website
  • for the phone number and address.

Here are just a few of my paintings currently on display there:

    Eat Me!
This is a small (5x7") oil painting, done from life here in my studio. It's one of my personal favorites from this fall. I had a hard time letting this one go to the gallery!

Red Fields and the Stone Barn at Ward Pound Ridge
is another 5x7" oil painting done en plein air (on location) at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation. This exquisite 4700 acre preserve is one of the Westchester County Parks, located just a few minutes from the The Paint Box. I've been wanting to paint this barn for years, and finally got around to it this fall!

    Fall Over Constitution Marsh

The painting below is a 24x36" oil painting done on location at Boscobel Restoration in Garrison, NY. It was painted up on the bluff, high above the Hudson overlooking Constitution Marsh, on four very windy days. I had to weigh the easel down by suspending my backpack from it, to stop it from blowing over!
